Andrea Venegoni, born in Genoa in 1965, is EPPO European Attorney for Italy. A 1987 graduate in comparative tax law from the University of Genoa, Venegoni was licensed to practice law in 1991.
In the same year, he entered the judiciary, holding positions as praetor and deputy public prosecutor in Genoa. He also worked at the Supreme Court's Office of the Supreme Court's Massimary and Role Office.
His international career includes experience with the United Nations in Kosovo and the European Union, especially at the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), where he contributed to important legislative initiatives.
His accomplishments include drafting proposals for directives against Union financial fraud.
Venegoni has also lent his expertise as a consultant for the Council of Europe and at UNOPS.
