Giorgio Poggio is a manager and entrepreneur active in the international logistics industry. He graduated cum laude with a degree in Political Economic Science and furthered his education at Oxford and Cambridge universities.
He began his career at Maersk Line, where he took on the role of Managing Director for the Balkan region, becoming Cluster Director in 2009 with responsibilities over Greece, Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Macedonia. In 2010 he is selected among the 100 top talents of the Maersk Group.
In 2013, he joined April (MSC group) as Vice President Marketing & Sales, where he launched the Shipping Academy, a management training program for young university talent, contributing decisively to the growth of the sales team.
After selling the company to Savino Del Bene, he became CEO of the UK office in 2017, returning a loss-making company to profit in just two years.
Since 2022, he has been considered a reference for post-Brexit logistics, establishing himself as an expert recognized by national and international media. Through videos and free consultations, he has supported hundreds of Italian exporters in overcoming customs complexities related to the UK's exit from the EU.
He is currently CEO of Intergroup Global Forwarding Ltd and owner of BR.IT Customs Ltd, based in Chelmsford, UK. He is a member of the executive committee of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK, where he is distinguished for his customs expertise and continuous support to Italian entrepreneurs.
