Roman, born in 1980, Giovanna Pancheri began her career at RAI and in the press and communications departments of the World Trade Center Association in New York, the Unesco World Heritage Center in Paris, and as Policy Officer at the European Youth Forum in Brussels.
A journalist and correspondent for Sky TG24 since 2005, she was a Europe correspondent in Brussels from 2009 to 2016: here she covered the economic and migrant crisis in the main countries in trouble and, from Brexit to elections in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, through the diplomatic handling of the crises in Georgia, Libya, and Ukraine to coverage of the terrorist attacks in France and Belgium, she covered the most important political and news events around the world.
From 2016 to 2021, she was Sky TG24's North America correspondent based in New York. Since 2023, she has been at the helm of Start, the all-news channel's main in-depth political program.
She is the author of the essays The Darkness over Paris. Beyond the News in the Days of Terror (Rubbettino, 2017), American Rebirth. Donald Trump's Nation and Joe Biden's Challenge (Sem, 2021) and The American Empire. History of U.S. Foreign Policy from Panama to Ukraine (Solferino, 2023).
Formerly European Young Leaders '40 Under 40′, he has received numbers of awards and honors for his journalistic work including the International Journalists of the Mediterranean Award in 2015, the Amerigo Award in 2018, and the Biagio Agnes Award in 2019.
He is fluent in English and French.
