Matteo Colaninno is an Italian manager and entrepreneur. He graduated with honors in economics and business from the University of Verona and began his career in 1996 in the Sogefi group, working in management control, investment and production

In 2003 he was appointed a director of Piaggio & C. S.p.A.; from 2004 to August 2023 he served as vice chairman. From September 1, 2023, he assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pontedera-based company.

At the same time, Colaninno has long experience in association and politics: he was president of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria (2005-2008), vice-president of the European confederation YES For Europe, a member of Parliament from 2008 to 2022 with Partito Democratico and then Italia Viva, holding positions in the shadow government for Economic Development, among others.

He is also currently a member of the board of the Institute for International Policy Studies (ISPI), the advisory board of the Rome Biomedical Campus University Foundation, and the board of the Italy-India Association for Bilateral Cooperation.
